Trunk Planner 

Hours:  08.00 – 17.00 hrs Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch
My client are a Global Logistics firm who have a brand new opportunity for a Trunk Planner to join them on their successful growth journey.

Main purpose of Job:
This brand new opportunity requires previous experience in a similar role, with strong attention to details, planning and allocating the cargo to be moved to final mile local depots for delivery. As the Hub for the road network you will play a key role ensuring customers deliveries are achieved on time.

Key Tasks:                                                                                             

  • Timely and effective communication with Customers, Partners and internal Departments via e-mail/telephone.
  • Allocating and planning up to 15 trunks per night.
  • Using pallet networks or parcel carriers for support.
  • Liaising with colleagues around the UK to ensure a joint approach.
  • Communicating with agreed hauliers ensuring company policy is adhered too.
  • Pro-active problem solving for access freight.
  • Provision of PODs to meet customer requirements where necessary.
  • Provide KPI and reports internally where required.
  • Resolve Credit Management Queries where necessary.
  • General Day to Day administrative duties.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understand the regulations on and have worked in the movement of hazardous freight previously desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Be able to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Provide KPI and reports internally where required.
  • Past experience in similar role.
